Our Storytelling Philosophy

At Confident Kids, books are woven into our daily rhythm. From group discussions to comforting a child, stories are our tools for connection and learning. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we extend stories beyond the pages through ‘bookish play’ – acting out scenes, crafting props, and using puppets to bring tales to life.

We also celebrate our love of reading with special events throughout the year. One highlight is National Simultaneous Storytime, where children across Australia read the same book at the same time. Another favourite is Book Week, a time when our centres come alive with costumes, themed activities, and a shared enthusiasm for stories.

Our reception area features a cosy community library where children can borrow books to continue their reading adventures at home. It’s our way of fostering a love for reading beyond the classroom.
